"8/17/25: From Peak 12123, up from Devils Thumb Pass. Coolest views of Devils Thumb and nice little warm-up scamper to the summit plateau where there are some fancy summit blocks that could have some enjoyable scramble-tunities to play on. We also got our first good view of the proposed contour traverse around the base of Jasper’s summit (and above its persistent snow field) to link up with its SE ridge. From this vantage point it looks precariously steep and loose and I got two looks from the other two that made me question the remainder of this route. But, I convinced myself and most importantly my companions that looks can be deceiving and that it was still worth pursuing. As common in these situations it turned out to be a nothing-burger and much to do about nothing. We easily made the SE ridge and carried on towards Peak 12055. Also, the view shed down the Storm Lakes basin is nothing short of spectacular along this stretch!" — LoneWolf • Aug 17, 2025

"I came up the Hessie trail from Eldora and made my way to the far end of Jasper Lake. I lost the trail to Storm Lake at some point and decided to head up the ridge to Pt. 12,695.
