"Fun first experience climbing in Utah - STARTING higher (10,000 feet) than we usually end up in Washington was new for us. Most of the 1,500 foot gain was once we left the trail south of the mountain, and headed cross country (no trail) straight up the boulders and scree of the mountain. At the top we enjoyed great views of the surrounding peaks and lakes. We could see what looked like a doable path down the east face of the mountain and made our way down, eventually hooking up with a trail that led us back to the trailhead - it was nice to be able to make a loop. Very nice half-day climb where we ran into only 1 other group on the mountain. The trails around the lakes are very popular and very crowded. Nice, rewarding half day hike to get used to hiking in higher elevation." — BryHong8 • Sep 3, 2016
