"Climbed Mount Warning for SOTA, Summits on the Air Amateur Radio activity. Bit misty and cloudy. Not a lot of room on top for antennas. Logging as this mountain may be banned from climbing soon." — VK1DI • Oct 12, 2014
"Started hike up around 11:30AM through lush rainforest path. Took approximately 1:50 to reach summit and enjoyed the view for about half an hour. Excellent platforms to see all four directions at the top. Last 400m was steep and required some climbing...especially tricky on the way down. Reached the bottom in 1:30." — marcos.fong • Sep 2, 2014
"Our first visit to Mt Warning coincided with a beautiful clear day. Once at the summit, views could be had out to sea beyond Byron Bay, Coolangatta and Surfers Paradise! We will be back." — TrigHunter • Jul 4, 2012
"Members: Dougie, Daz, Bomber, Glendry, Smutty
Difficulty: Grade 3/4 (couple of very steep sections but chained)
Description:
Knocked over Mt Warning as part of Lads 2012. Left Ballina early and grabbed HJs on the way to Warning. Car parking was a nightmare as it was public holiday. Very busy on the mountain with quite a few waits (especially on the chain). Paths were good and well worn and the observation area on the top was very impressive. (How the hell did they get that steel up there). Scoffed our Subways at the top, took a photo (with Daz doing his best humpback impression), then ran significant portions of the track on the way back down. Glen Hendry stunt driver got bogged, but after only 30 or 40 mins realised that the handbrake was on and we were on our way. Overall impression was pretty easy climb, very nice rainforest woodland, very well setup observation area with brilliant views to the ocean and other mountains." — Ormo • May 6, 2012
