Mount Everett

"My first hike of the day. I hiked in from the east up to the col, then headed up Everett first. Steep hike up. I reached the summit but there weren't really any views due to the low trees and bushes. I explored a short ways on the AT north and found a rock that gave me views to the east. I then headed back to the col and headed up Race. There are views there. Nice ones too. I then headed back to my car and headed off to my second hike. " — newenglandwarrior • Aug 30, 2024

"Hiked along the A.T. up to this one on my way home from visiting my grandson, Everett (see what i did there?). Found a couple of USGS Reference markers at the summit. But the summit marker itself was missing and just the mounting pin was remaining in the rock!" — SteveM_StickMan • Aug 5, 2023

"Summited during a two day trip so Deb and I could finish up a final stretch of the Mass AT that we had to skip a couple of years ago. Last time we were here the friend we were hiking with broke his ankle on top of Race Mt and we had to evacuate down Race Brook Falls trail. Today we hiked up and over Everett back to the junction of Race Brook Falls trail and then immediately turned around and came back over Everett for the second time of the day. "Beautiful Labor Day hike. The Race Brook waterfall was pretty much dry but the Race Brook trail offers a few nice vantage points before hitting the AT. Race Brook Trail is fairly steep but none of the sections are too long. The hike up Everett offers nice views back to the south toward CT and the Taconics.
