"From Zell am Ziller, up to the Rosenalm and then up to the Kreuzjoch hutte, then up to the Karspitze. Hot sunny day. We then dropped to the Rossee, before going up to some peaks that don't appear on peakery, - the Richtbergkogel 2278m and Gerlostaljoch 2156m, before dropping down to Gerlos pass at 1200m and getting a bus back to Mayrhofen" — davidlong • Jul 20, 2013
"On a weeks early season walking trip to Mayrhofen, Austria, we decided to go up this outlying peak, having previously been up its bigger neighbour Kreuzjoch. We left Mayrhofen on the minature train, to Zell, here we walked across the valley and caught the cable car up part of the mountain. From here we walked up to the Kreuzjoch hutte 1905m, where many of the locals seemed to be heading. We continued up to the Torjoch and then across the remaining snowfields to the summit. Here we had magnificent views of the surrounding peaks, many of which were still full of snow. After a farly leisurely break on the summit, we dropped down steeply in the snow to the Rossee, and then down a zigzag track, past summer huts to a small mountain hamlet called Auserefensalm. Here we joined a high level track that wound its way round the mountain for several miles, with magnificent views, before dropping down steeply into Gerlos, where we caught a bus back to Mayrhofen." — davidlong • Jun 2, 2012
