"Climb was made as part of an archaeological survey/exploration of the adjoining mesa. Objective was to explore and document precolumbian cultural sites and artifacts for a government database. Team members numbered about a dozen and included professional archaeologists and volunteers. We stayed on the mesa for about 3 days. Ancient (probable Anasazi) habitations were found and recorded. Access to the mesa top was by a long, narrow, game trail up the steep eastern face (series of cliffs and rocky benches made of Cretaceous, sedimentary strata. " — Thothmosis • Oct 15, 1991
