"I was driving home from a conference in New Hampshire, and this old favorite hike was on the way. The weather was excellent, so I decided to hike it again. I’m glad I did, though I didn’t notice the blazes this time. Also: since my last summit here, the motel at the base has been torn down and replaced by a Dollar General. "Neat little short hike for the family. Great view of the Whites at the top. Big open "summit" with plenty of room for kids to run around. Awesome horizon map built into a monument that names all of the peaks you see in all directions. Good excuse to visit Saco River Brewing across the street. Will definitely go again." — mikewilliamsjr • Nov 19, 2016
"A great day for a hike. Sadly all good hiking trips must come to an end. Today we headed home to Maine after a fun stay on the Kancamagus. Stopping in Fryeburg and climbing Jockey Cap is a great way to look back on the places we've been. Good bye for now New Hampshire Mountains we will be back. Happy Trails." — bwright • Jun 18, 2015
"After a rather uneventful trip up Wiggin Mountain I needed some views! A quick afternoon hike to catch the sunset this was an easy trip and great sunset behind the mountains. Great rock to take in the views and relax." — tvanrosendael • Dec 9, 2012
"Perfect day for a hike. Trail goes from parking lot of Jockey Cap Motel and Store on US 302. it took only about 15 minutes to get to the top but the view is super. It has the famous monument to Robert Peary at the top that helps identify the mountains one is seeing in the distance. Be careful going back down; there are lots of side trails. The trail back to the motel is inconsistently marked with blue blazes. " — Badgerinmaine • Aug 26, 2011
"I was working a competitive trail ride, out of the Fryeburg Fairgrounds, when someone suggested I go take a hike, so I did. Great little hike, and I do mean little. If your in Fryeburg take the time to get out and take a hike.
Happy trails" — bwright • Jul 24, 2010
