"Beautiful, 1st time hike up this fire tower peak. Trail conditions were just a bit muddy, but good. Beautiful sunny autumn-like weather. I brought my 20 pound, Boston Terrier companion along for the trip." — johngilligan • Aug 25, 2017

"We chose borderline rainy day. Full clouds and we could not see the mountain as we could before from the Lake Harris campground. Due to not knowing if it were going to rain we opted for this short and easy mountain as a part of the Firetower Challenge just in case the rain started. We missed any type of views due to being in the mist and clouds but we were the only ones on the trail, making it completely peaceful and like we were in our own little world! There is a neat little observers cabin at the top which was nice to see!" — brittanypalmieri • Jul 14, 2017

"Solo. Definitely one of my favorite hikes I've ever done, and absolutely my favorite firetower hike (so far). A beautifully maintained trail, lots and lots of frost flowers! I wish i had hiked this in either fall or dead of winter as the woods were largely just brown, as were the views, but still an A+ day. Almost done with the firetower challenge. "Hiked this with my son who was home visiting from Vt. Some snow on the upper sections & the wind @ the top was
howling. We couldn't spend much time admiring the views from the tower." — billsussdorff • Apr 15, 2015

"Family and friends up for Laborday weekend, they wanted to hike so Deb, I, my kids dogs and myfriend and his family did this short hike up to the Firetower. Overcast limited the views but the hike was easy for the kids and the dogs had fun." — hbotc • Sep 5, 2010

"Climbed with husband Frank and Rev. Richard Welkley. Frank and I renewed our wedding vows there on our 30th anniversary. Not the best views, since it had been raining until just before we started climbing." — barbaratraver • Jun 6, 1989
