"Spent a lot of time over the years trying to figure out a way to get up this mountain. The obvious routes are fronted by private property, and there is very little information from previous visitors. So as is usually the case I would only drive past it when going through Wrightwood. After studying it on Google Earth, my plan of attack was to park at a large gravel turnout before crossing the Sheep Creek Bridge. From there, I crossed the Sheep Creek Wash and started heading up the slope. There were some use trails that gave guidance, but mostly I aimed for the ridge. No bushwhacking was necessary on the route. I eventually intersected a dirt road which I followed most of the way to the highpoint. I had the mountain to myself, but could clearly hear the weekend music blaring in Wrightwood down below when at the summit. " — MikeTeeples • Jul 10, 2021

I crossed the highway into Sheep Creek's wash heading northwest to the 3rd gully from the southeastern toe of the ridge and ascended to the west-southwest steeply. It was mostly steep class 1, but there were a couple tricky class-2 rocks. Bushwhacking was relatively minor. Near the top of the gully, I tried to jump to a connecting ridge to join the main ridge, but it was way too thick with manzanita, so I hopped into the ditch right next to it and made it to the main ridge where I found the old dirt track. I followed it north, and then it wavered to the northwest, became faint at times, heading up and over a few false summits, finally reaching the summit which has a tiny rock pile and a large thicket of Flannelbush (California Fremontia). Views to Blue Ridge (Wright Mountain, Mountain High) are pretty neat. I the..." — brianpowell • Dec 15, 2019
