"I finally decided to climb this one after years of passing it along Lone Pine Canyon Road. Of course, I went on a cloudy, misty day, so views were nil except when a cloud breach came over the area! Getting there, you park at the turnout across the hwy from the gate and dirt road and head east-northeast along the road which dips and climbs and becomes a use trail/firebreak. It is a short, but steep climb. The higher portions of the trail have poodle-dog bush since there was a fire in recent years so beware. The summit has a register in a can located in a pile of rocks under a triangle sign. I came back the same way. All in all, a fun short hike helping me to unwind after a crappy day at work!" — brianpowell • Apr 18, 2020
"It was great to actually achieve the summit, rather than driving past it like I did for years. Actually, that was my theme for the day because it was the same story with Mount Lewis and Kratka Ridge." — MikeTeeples • Aug 16, 2017
"Nice short, steep hike from Lone Pine Canyon Rd. The gate was closed to the small parking area, so I just parked at the gate. Excellent views. Excellent bench at the top. Great short hike." — klotito • Feb 28, 2016
"Less than 3 miles, but fairly steep. There are some nice views from the summit. There's even a bench to take a rest on while gazing down the San Andreas Fault toward San Jacinto Peak. " — jimduvall • Dec 6, 2015
"It was a steep and windy climb from lone pine canyon, but the hike had great views over Wrightwood. From the summit the views are over Cajon pass and the high desert. It was sunny all morning, but as i ate my lunch the wind blew some clouds over which made for a nice gentle snowfall during the hike down. It was a great day for hiking." — DerekJayRichardson • Feb 2, 2014
