The 36-mile Wasatch Ultimate Ridge Link-up (WURL) is a ridge scramble-/suffer-fest created and first completed in 2004 by Jared Campbell. It horseshoes around the rugged ridge of Little Cottonwood Canyon, climbing ~18K vertical feet to the summit of 35 peaks along the way. This tough challenge has grown in popularity recently; usually attempted as a clockwise one-time push in Type-2 fun circles. Largely overlaps with the Wasatch 11ers Peak Challenge. "Hiked up to Red Pine Lake than onto the ridge and scrambled up to the top than came down the face of White Baldy through all the boulders back to Red Pine

"I took North mountain trail #42 on the way up. This trail is in genuine need of some TLC. It looks like the forest service has given up on maintaining this trail. Signs are old and hardly readable, trail is completely overgrown and hard to navigate. On the way down I took first hamongog trail #200 and that was a better maintained trail. A bit loose at sections, but fine.
The granite scrambling to the summit of chipman peak was easy, hardly scrambling at times. Easy traverse over to south thunder mountain, nothing technical, just need to be aware of the rock. Push to the summit of south thunder was steeper, but nice boulders and still very easy. Lake hardy is gorgeous, views of timp, box elder, and lone peak are epic." — easton • Sep 22, 2024

"Completed the Robinson variation of the triple traverse! So glad I finally did this one, it’s been on my list for awhile now. The initial trail up isn’t too steep, but once you get to the basin and the end of the trail, it turns into an annoying boulder field. Once you get to the summit of bonkers peak, it turns into good scrambling across the entire ridge. The first pitch up jepsons folley is very steep class 4/5 wall, lots of exposure, the push to O’Sullivan isn’t too bad, but the descent sucks because you drop down super low. Finding a starting point to push up dromedary is a little weird, but once you are up it, the scrambling is easy. The descent from dromedary into lake Blanche absolutely sucks, and I don’t think I will be doing it again. Mix of super steep and loose rock fields, thistle galore, and getting cliffed out and having to find another way down. There is also a really annoying creek crossing with bushwhacking." — easton • Sep 8, 2024
