The "Headlands 50". So you finished the Marin Headlands 5 Peak Challenge and are looking for a bigger, harder challenge only minutes from SF? This challenge takes your exploration of the Headlands to the ultimate level. Includes 50 heights-of-land and dramatic coastal points in the Headlands area south of Hwy 1. Some summits lie off-trail with only faint paths to guide you to obscure vantage points. Reaching others requires navigating eroded, coastal routes with treacherous, exposed footing. Extremely dangerous! Also beware of poison oak (long pants recommended for some off-trail peaks). Despite being just across the Golden Gate Bridge from SF, this is not a challenge to be taken lightly, be aware of the hazards!
