"Hiked Pine Mountain Trail from Hines Gap Road to connecting trail to peak of Dowdell Knob. Not long after we started, we turned back to retrieve forgotten items, then continued to peak, so our mileage is longer than this route. Bug repellent and sun screen are recommended for this route. "GPS/GPX recording is very noisy, and my estimate is about 1.5 miles hiked from the “No Name” Parking Lot (below 1000’) on connecting trail across Mountain Creek Nature Trail Loop (below 940’) to Pine Mountain Trail to connecting trail to the park office on top of Peak 1313’ for a net elevation gain of more than 313’ and total elevation gain of more than 373’ one way. "Most enjoyable hike on a beautiful day! Mountain Laurel blossoms are approaching their peak. Parked at Trading Post and followed signs through campground to red-blazed Mountain Creek Nature Trail Loop to white-blazed Pool Trail to Peak 1083 ft, then off trail to highest point. Gina and Willette picked me up in the campground on the way back toward the Trading Post. This was Willette’s final trip to Pine Mountain, and I took a photo of her as she first saw the mountain laurel blossoms by Lake Delanor." — davidensley • Apr 21, 2022

"Hiked Wolfden Loop clockwise from Rocky Point Parking Lot. Marnie met me at Csonka Falls, then we met a hiker who goes by Woodsman. Hope to hike with him again. Wolfden Loop is 6.7 miles according to maps and signs. I went off trail to peak of Hogback Mountain and to photograph Cascade Falls from another angle, so I estimate I hiked closer to 7 miles than 8. GPX recordings from both Peakery Beta and Peakbagger apps had a lot of noise such as elevation spikes (no, I did not climb any trees or towers, and I cannot jump that high!) and wandering loops (no, I was not failing a sobriety test!), so I used the Peakbagger app to clean up the GPS noise and posted the edited GPX file there." — davidensley • Jul 5, 2021
