Today I am approaching the Sierra de la Pila Natural Park of about 9000 hectares, when I arrive I am totally alone and I do not see anyone else during the entire route, it is quite hot and the lizards cross quickly in front of my feet. Silence prevails so I suspect that the fauna of the forest is dozing in the shade after a night of activity. I go to Pico Pelado first and then I will go to Cerro Gordo, I check that the refuge is being restored because there is cement and other materials in place, I am glad because it is well located and has magnificent views.
The ascent to Cerro Gordo is through the mountains because there is no path and only a slope full of rocks and scrub. From above I have a good view of Pico Pelado and Pico Pila. When I return I see beautiful pine trees that were already there before I was born and that make me reflect on the evolution and management of forests, which are essential for the future of the planet. As I think about this, a cooler breeze begins to blow that accompanies me to the end of the path and makes me turn my head to see the branches in motion.
