"My brother and I parked about .5 miles west of the national forest boundary and ended up with almost 15 miles for Bassett. I'm sure it would be awesome in the canyon during peak fall color. " — ZachTeich • May 16, 2023
"Very diverse hike in prime scenery.
Fall colors along (dry) Ash Creek were very enjoyable. The ridge walk amongst volcanic rock formations is spectacular with alternating views to the West (Rincons, Catalinas) and the East (Pinaleños).
The trail was slightly overgrown but the only real bushwhack is the last push from the trail to the summit. Extraordinary views of the Sky Islands and the grasslands below.
This is truly one of the most diverse and prettiest summit hikes I've done in the State so far.
Parked a little too early (before the first gate) so I could have saved about 2.5 miles roundtrip." — Gabsolute • Nov 19, 2017
"Great Trail-hike which does not see many visitors at all, Yes I agree it far away from everything and hard to get too but in my humble opinion very well worth it. Interesting Rock Formation near the Top. " — Nuernberger • May 12, 2016
