"There was light rain that limited visibility. No rain jacket was required except on the very windy top of the tower. The top is much more windy then the base that is protected by numerous trees. There is a nice view that worth the effort.
One of the three trails leading to the summit is labelled as private.
As can be clearly seen on the map, all the steep terrain is towards the end of the trail.
This track is slightly longer then it should because I went back to the summit wrongly believing that I forgot my GPS there. The GPS was safely attached to a carabiner, but has slept in my back." — pierredenommee • Jul 16, 2019
"Had to cancel a more challenging hike due to knee issues so I chose another of the 77 mountains in northern New England with 'bald' in there name. Old fire tower with great views north into Canada and east to NH. Nicely maintained summit hut!" — goshen-bagger • May 11, 2019
"Our 4th day in the NEK of Vermont. Today we headed to the Lake Willoughby area to hike Bald Mtn and as many others as we can before the rain clouds come in. The fire tower allowed for great views and the summit cabin was just renovated, very nice job." — Nimblefoot • Oct 6, 2013
