"Alberta. During Skyline Trail. Black bear droppings in the forest, made lots of noise! Start of the season, very muddy above treeline. The Notch was fun, 5 metres of vertical snow. Deserved rest at Maligne Lake after 2 days of hiking. Hitchhiked back to car park with german couple in rented RV." — Pieter • Jun 29, 2017
"Was up at the in-laws in St. Albert and I had a free day, so blasted out to Jasper and caught the morning shuttle to Maligne Lake leaving my car at the north trailhead. Thru-hiked the Skyline Trail in 8 hrs (44km ish)...feet started hurting at about 36km. The downhill to the car was painful. This is my favourite classic hike in Alberta and almost rivals West Coast Trail." — alexjoseph • Sep 5, 2011
"Myself and 3 Army friends were on 2 weeks R&R whilst being based in BATUS. After hitting Edmonton and Calgary, we headed to Banff before going on to Jasper our last stop before Vancouver on an epic road trip. Whilst there, we explored the trails and near by peaks of this beautiful area. We hiked the Skyline trail as a loop and hit about 5 peaks. It was a very long day, almost 16hrs. But, the views were well worth the effort, and sore feet." — HikingViking • Oct 4, 1990
