"Minimal snow crossing on Nigel, scrambled around the glacier. Scree slog up was painful, but we started at 5am and I feel like i slept walked through most of it. Quick fun coming down. Wilcox required a little route finding, but getting off route just meant fun scrambling. great views from both peaks on a clear day." — ivo • Sep 5, 2020
"As part of a 7 Kane weekend bender and 2 Kane long weekend Sunday. Nigel - Wilcox. 7.5 hrs 1600m 19km. Left Calgary at 5:30am. At campground at 9am. 250m up the trail spooked a bear in tight quarters. Retreated to main campground and went up Wilcox Pass trail. Once up high traversed over to Nigel and up the steep slog. Then up the foreshortened talus to the ridge. Ridge is really sweet with a big glacier up there. Step was free of snow and was on top by noon and met 3 others from Edmonton who had bivied at the col. Then rapid descent and over to Wilcox along the trail via the lookout. Wilcox was trail until near the top where it gets a little spicy traversing on ledge features to the top for 3pm. Then retreat to the Wilcox Pass and back to the car by 4:30pm. Back to Lake Louise for a big dinner and off to Yoho for a 5 Kane Monday.

"26JUL48
TL;DR: Best view ever/Moderate Scramble/Full of people who have no idea where they are.
I attempted the Scramble 2 days earlier and was turned around at Wilcox Pass by a storm that came out of nowhere and packing major wind and heavy rain. But the weather on this day was something you could only dream of. I started at the Wilcox Car/Tent Camping and enjoyed the original trail all to my self. A clear water stream prone to waterfalls hugs this trail. Once I gained Wilcox Pass I decided to Scramble the rocky ridge from start to finish left of the visible path, I did not regret this decision. The view was unbelievably breathtaking, the monsters that painted the horizon--Andromeda, Athabasca, Kitchener--treats for my eyes. I took an hour lunch on a rock slab and simply sat in awe.
The summit approach has moderate exposure not to be taken lightly (I've seen people in sneakers and t-shirts with "go-pros" on this approach and I can't imagine what they could do if a fast moving storm moved through). Summit view is unbelievable, and Wilcox Pass is teaming with wild life as I figured out while I surprised a grazing herd of Big Horn Sheep in the rocky moss covered meadows rich with..." — AskTheMountain • Jul 26, 2015
"This day was actually supposed to be the day we were going to summit Snow Dome, but since we had a couple extra days, we figured we would add some gravy on top and do a couple of scrambles. Wilcox seemed the most logical as it was a quick short day and a moderate scramble." — dkmountainman • Aug 11, 2011
"Objective Mount Wilcox 2884m
Birthday Scramble!! Cloudy, wet, slippery and snow at times. Cold and dreary day, but fun and challenging due to the weather. Easy/Moderate Scramble" — karlakuharic • Jul 29, 2001
