"Solo. Drove in to about a 0.5 mile north; realized later I could drive closer. Slung an 8mm rope over first chockstone above crux, then climbed doubled rope and belayed myself over crux with schwabisch hitches on special 4mm cord (dyneema core). Rapped down on 2500 lb bare dyneema with a supermunter. Left 50' 4000 lb dyneema spliced sling for rap from notch; beware it's ONLY for rap from top of ascent gully (NOT) from summit, since it is one strand eye-through-eye. I recently saw this comment from Sara Weimar, who climbed it with heavy aid on Oct 17, 2021: "There’s also a weird string up there too that one shouldn’t trust for anything, but I didn’t think to remove until we were down already." Ah, the weird string is 4000 lb dyneema, labelled as such. My breaks tests suggest this materials looses up to 10% strength a year when out in full sun, so it should be replaced by 2023." — hwstock • Mar 30, 2020
