"Went for a casual ski ascent on a Green-Green-Green avy forecast Spring day and ended up triggering an avalanche on the uptrack and ending up in the trees and having to be dug out by a friend. "Planning on a traverse in the hailstone butte area, but it was snowing pretty hard there. Clear a few minutes up the road.
Snow free until the top of the ridge, which was guarded by a cornice. We scrambled up some rock where the cornice was absent. Easy stuff.
Nice day. Good views from the lookout." — mike_rogers81 • May 23, 2020
"Sweet sweet bluebird day in late March which felt like winter with the snow. What a great trail and left my 2 snowshoeing partners home and skinned up a treed ridge to the summit ridge and enjoyed fantastic skiing from summit to car in 30 minutes. Incredible find." — alexjoseph • Apr 5, 2020
"A last minute change from Mount Burke, because of wind, and chance of rain. Took a slight detour by mistake near the start that added 4 or 5 km to the trip... good training for Randy. About +10c on the top with a good 30k wind. Randy, Kati, Myself. a good 2h30m to go up and 1h down. Elevation gain for the trip 650m, YTD elevation gain 44995m." — MtnJohn • Sep 1, 2012
"Summitted with Ali in completely winter conditions. Snowshoed up the trail the entire way. We used Bob Spirko's route and had to punch through a cornice on the ridge. That entire ridge was corniced so we had to find weakness by going around quite awhile." — dkmountainman • Mar 3, 2011
