"Today I am traveling near the city of Cartagena, to Mount Roldán, the day is almost spring-like and sunny. I come across numerous hikers on the trail doing this same route.
The trail is well marked and is quite steep with a difference in elevation of about 1,200 feet. As you go up the north side there is plenty of vegetation and shaded areas. At the top I see the old ruins of military buildings. Afterwards, a track takes me to the 427m peak and from there I return along Cerro de Roldán where I eat something and enjoy some good views. Someone has placed a plaque in this place with the message "I choose to live" and planted a young Carob tree.
Down there I see leaving the port
some passenger cruise ships and other container ships. When I go back, several sailboats take to the sea to take advantage of the afternoon breeze" — franciscobirruezo • Nov 25, 2023
"when parking the car it was raining hard, we waited about 15 minutes and started the climb. As I said in the climb to Mount Roldan, the climb is endless and does not give up. The humidity after the rain was unbearable. At the top we were alone and an almost hurricane wind was blowing. The bunker at the top is well preserved although it is currently not used thanks to the batteries of missiles that protect the coast." — franciscobirruezo • Sep 11, 2018
