"Gina climbed most of the way before stopping while I continued toward the top of Peak 2074 ft. At the end of the road shown on the maps, there is a level road bed going around the slightly higher peak. I walked around looking for the easiest path up, and as I was about to walk up, I looked down just in time to see a copperhead in my path. Startled, I instinctively yelled loud enough that Gina heard me. I stepped back, took a zoomed photo of the snake, and decided that was close enough to the actual high point, and Peakery gave me credit. On the way back down, a black snake moved on the side of the dirt road, startling me again, but right away I could see that it was not venomous." — davidensley • May 7, 2024
