"Began the hike from Martin Tudor Park in Fontana. The steep hike from the park was pleasant on a cool morning. Couldn't help but notice the spray can artwork on many of the boulders. Also, the yellow directional arrows pointing out the right direction to hike was also surprisingly helpful. The summit area is round and flat, featuring commanding views when looking over the side. "Jurupa is a relatively short hike, but what it lacks in length, it more than makes up with steepness! I picked up a use trail from Jurupa Park on the edge of Fontana, and I followed it up, up, and up the steep hillside. The hike is about, or a little more than, 2 miles r/t with about 1,100' gain! It is very popular with the locals, so expect plenty of company on this one, and many of the boulders are painted with interesting graffiti! On the use trail I used, there are even a few class-2 sections, so you'll get a great workout! The summit is a very broad, flat plateau with some inspirational views all around the Inland Empire. Beware, going back down is a little sketchy as the soil and rocks can be slippery!! Also beware of some Poison-Oak on the edge of the trail in a few spots!!" — brianpowell • Dec 29, 2019
"This Mountain is great for training, about 20 to 30min to the summit at a steady brisk pace. First part of the ascent is steep and a great workout. The climb levels out here and there enough to let you catch your breath before gaining some more altitude. At the summit 360 degree views of all the Inland Empire when it's not covered in smog. At the top there is not much, just a flat peak about 100 yards diameter. There is no water refill areas and usually this mountain is dry and hot by mid day." — JohnnyMar • May 10, 2011
