"Completed a loop hike on the Box Springs Mountain plateau. From the parking lot, I picked up the Edison Trail going south to first summit Peak 2602. Next, I visited Box Springs Lookout. From there I followed the power line use trail toward Peak 3001. After Peak 3001, I picked up Box Springs Mountain Rd and visited Box Springs Mountain. I continued on to an overlook point of The "M". From there I went back north up Box Springs Mountain Road, where I diverted off the road to Peak 2866. There are two more peaks to get along the road, but I will get them next time (don't want to get too many peaks in a day, or else the experience becomes a blur). Meanwhile, I just completed the loop from there. " — MikeTeeples • Sep 11, 2022
"Began the hike from Martin Tudor Park in Fontana. The steep hike from the park was pleasant on a cool morning. Couldn't help but notice the spray can artwork on many of the boulders. Also, the yellow directional arrows pointing out the right direction to hike was also surprisingly helpful. The summit area is round and flat, featuring commanding views when looking over the side. "Accessed the hike from Hidden Springs Drive in Moreno Valley and picked up The M Trail. It's a good climb from there to the giant "M" that is painted below the summit of Box Springs Mountain. A little ways behind the "M" is the high point of Box Springs Mountain. A gated electrical/radio tower facility sits on the summit. Took a slightly different pathway down until they eventually merged about half way back." — MikeTeeples • Feb 5, 2022
"This is my second visit to these summits. When pulling up to where I started the hike last time (At the end of Marlborough Avenue) I found it blocked off due to construction in the open field before the peaks. I wound up parking in a nearby business parking lot that was empty. The dirt road which serves as the lower walking path goes right past it. So I jumped on it and quickly elevated to Pigeon Benchmark. I continued on to Sugarloaf from there. Instead of going straight up the side, I had noticed last time that there was a trail system that goes to the east side of the peak and then climbs up. I patiently took the trail to the east side of the peak and found the use trail that goes right up to the top. As expected, there are great views from the top. I left the peak from the north side and formed a loop hike back to the starting point." — MikeTeeples • Feb 5, 2022
"With the rain taking a break today, I opted for a reliable local hike. Mount Rubidoux is a paved hike, so no mud worries. I parked at Ryan Bonaminio Park and took the sidewalk to the start of the hike. It was good to be back again after a few years! I always appreciate the Riverside city views whenever I am there." — MikeTeeples • Mar 15, 2020
