"Tedious creek bed approach followed by a hike on mostly firm scree. "Upper moderate/easier difficult scrambling" (Class 3 climb) near the summit. I'm not sure the optional descent route saved any time. Fantastic views from the top.
I think I made a mistake by staying mostly in the creek bed. Other people described moving faster by staying high above the creek." — Taras • Oct 17, 2022
"I was super happy Ron agreed to tackle this one - not many friends would allow for this much suffering! The bushwhack was a bit disorienting at first, then it sucked, then it was a lot of sidesloping and hopping over deadfall. When we got into the bowl things were pretty standard though and we began our typical ascent and slog. Views of Minnewanka were breathtaking and made it worth it. I also liked the view of Banff and the little Tunnel Mountain way down there, smack in the middle of things. It was a long day - almost 12 hours. Mosquitoes were terrible n the way out." — leigh-annewebster • Jul 25, 2020
"Got this one done. I don't think I will be up a third time. After taking the previous weekend off due to thunderstorms, I was happy to get out again. Both Liz and I were sick (chest colds), so this wasn't easy.
Great views though.
She's down to 7 (6 trips). Hoping winter holds off for a bit longer" — mike_rogers81 • Sep 7, 2019
"Beautiful day but man that is a slog in particular since the 2013 flood which has left the river clogged with debris, combine that with blowdowns in the adjacent forest, and lots of bushwacking and boulder hopping in the creek, and you have a recipe for a long 10 hr day with Rob, Rob, and Kelly. Summit log dates to 1994 with an average 2 parties a year.

"Just took my time, pretty slow going anyway with all the fallen trees and rock hopping. The canyon near the start was interesting. I finally seen the cabin. The views were nice weather was near perfect. Spent an hour at the summit. Glad to finally get this one time to start planning the next ones." — Randy • Jul 24, 2017
"Myself and 3 Army friends were on 2 weeks R&R whilst being based in BATUS. After hitting Edmonton and Calgary, we headed to Banff before going on to Jasper and Vancouver on an epic road trip. Whilst there, we explored the trails and near by peaks of this beautiful area. A few good scrambling sections with a bit of exposure, and lots of scree !!" — HikingViking • Sep 24, 1990
