"Left Telegraph Creek at 7:00am and drove for half an hour to the base of the mountain. Hiked through light bush for the first hour. Sweet smells, rustling leaves, and a golden sunrise. Wild cranberries too. We then stumbled across a trail and began following this up the mountain. Much easier. Plenty of brakes and view points on the way up. A very relaxed pace. Eventually the trail petered out and was replaced by dense sub alpine bush. By 11:00am we were finally out of the trees. Amazing display of fall colours up at this altitude, and fruit as well; huckleberries and low bush blueberries. Had lunch on a sub peak at 1:00pm. Amazing view of the wild uninhabited Stikine Valley, Sawtooth mountains, and much more. After an hour we continued on upwards, disturbing three confused mountain goats. Finally summited at 3:30pm after much scree treadmilling. Another 45min break for food and views, then back down, down, down. Went a little off track in the sub alpine bush, but eventually found the trail we had been following earlier.
