"The last of fall colors before the leaves fall off. I took of the least traveled trails to mount chocorua on a week day, really enjoyed the solitude and having the view all to myself." — sunny • Oct 12, 2022
"We left the house in Maine at about 0800 and made the hour and 15 minute drive over to the Whites in NH. We made it to the trailhead of Mount Chocorua a little after 0900. It's not like in the Adirondacks, it wasn't already packed by this time. We started our hike at 0933. Our trip was a bit slower than normal today as Mark kept having his quads cramp up. The cabin up near the top was pretty neat. The summit was absolutely breathtaking, albeit packed with people and super super windy. I had to brace myself to take pictures. After taking in the views and some pictures I hiked back down a little bit to an open rock face area that was not crowded and less windy to enjoy our lunch and cold "summit beer." We finished this hike in 5 hours. Total distance was 7.69 miles and my knees were feeling it by the end. Hopefully I can get them fixed soon! " — tscha1 • Jun 22, 2019
"Finally did this!
I’ve had this mountain on my bucket list since my early childhood but never got around to hiking it.
So many good things about this mountain.
The views from the summit are excellent; plenty of parking in the lot; and bathrooms at the trail head!!
We hiked the Champney Brook trail - very nice.
If you haven't hiked up Mount Chocorua I highly recommend it.
Here's a short video I did of the hike:

"Great day for a hike up to the summit via Champney Falls Trail to the Piper Trail. Not many people on the trail today. Weather was perfect. Low 70s, low humidity. Bugs were minimal. Many muddy areas on the trail but easily hiked around. Once above the tree line the wind picked up and temperature dropped a little. Great day!" — dmcosker • Jul 4, 2017
"A networking opportunity with Renata. We, along with her 2 friends and Doug, went up the Champney Falls Tr. They set a rapid pace and I had trouble keeping up. We eventually reached the summit and enjoyed the views for about an hour before heading back down. We detoured to Champney Falls on the way back down." — newenglandwarrior • Sep 22, 2016
"Amazing Hike.. we took the c. falls trail up (falls were closed due to maintenance) Hiked up with husband, 13 year old brother (first hike), and an almost 1 year old baby so it took us 6.5hrs! Well worth the time fun hike, with AMAZING views, possibly beats mount washington! " — Bluemagik1 • Jul 22, 2016
"My first successful hike up Mt. Chororua (previously attempted during grade school). Via Liberty Trail ascent and descent with a friend. Love the views from this bald summit!" — gullyhiker • Apr 16, 2016
"Took Nickerson Ledge to Carter Ledge up to Third Sister, followed along to Middle Sister, First Sister then onto Piper Trail up to Chocorua and back down Piper Trail. Nickerson/Carter Ledge trails were fairly steep ascents with some ledges, but wasn't as scary as I was expecting. Would be tough in wet/icy conditions." — maureenfh • Oct 24, 2015
"Bill V. led us up this hike. It was a steep long trail up and rock scrambles toward the top. The top was really cool and great views. It was very hot that day, and felt a big tough for me. This group doesn't stop much either." — lindahowes • Sep 19, 2015
"Cold start, 10 deg. Got up into the teens but back to 10 at summit with gusty winds. Snow squall as we left the summit. Cloudy but still outstanding views from summit. Summited via Bolles, Bee Line and Brook trails. Need a sign at Champney parking lot for winter hikers. Too easy to get on Bolles." — Alohabuffy • Jan 3, 2015
