"12.9.19~9 miles, 2,200’ gain, 3:43hrs. Pilot Mesa, Yucca Camp Mtn & Midway, 3 Peak Trio completing my own personal Boulder City Volcanic summit series. 5 miles of Jeep trail running (to and fro), 4 miles of mountaineering/climbing in rough terrain. Sun was finally out today and it was warm and lovely. My fav was Yucca Camp Mtn. I traversed it from North to South. It had a challenging climb up, a cool (sorta) knife’s edge traverse and a descent where I had to problem solve and find a break in the cliffs and weave down and through them. I worked hard today for these 3. Very satisfying." — paula.raimondi • Dec 9, 2019
"This was a great day with a fun group! We drove out to Peeper Benchmark first. We ascended & descended roughly from the West. We loaded back into the Jeeps and drove to Yucca Camp Road, where we started part 2 of our hiking day. We parked near the base of the north ridge of Yucca Camp Mountain and followed that ridge up. This was way more fun that any of us thought! It was a nice, exposed class 3 pseudo-knife ridge, with great views along the way. This was the highlight of the day. We descended to the SE, to the saddle between Yucca Camp Mountain and Midway Peak, then ascended Midway Peak via the West slope. Nothing special here. We were going to make our way over to Pilot Mesa as well, but decided to call it a day while we were all in good spirits." — Kevin • Jan 21, 2018
"Third of three summits today. :) We climbed down the south ridge of Yucca Camp and then came up the north-west (some of us a bit more west than others, which wasn't smart on my part) ridge to Midway Peak. Of course had to play the "Midway March" by John Williams when we reached the summit. Came back down a similar route, more straight down the north side of the peak. " — psychikingjes • Jan 21, 2018
