"This was a short, easy and very beautiful hike with great views of the surrounding mountains. We took the Hansen Ridge Trail going and the Harris Lake Trail coming back. You can park at 3400 ft, so it's only 1000 ft or so to the top. The trails have been recently reconditioned for mountain bikes, and we saw a few cyclists. There is a point, after some switchbacks, where you need to turn left into an obscured and abandoned FS road in order to find the route to the summit.

"Brought my sister, my buddy, his girlfriend and his dog along. Took the long way up and the short way down. From the Hansen Creek trailhead the route marked "this way is madness" is actually the more direct route if you intend to stick to the roads and trails, so don't be deterred by the commentary. Our route was roughly 5 miles up and 3 miles down." — Al-Rashid • Apr 5, 2015
