"Definitely not super difficult. Follow the Lake Agnes trail to Lake agnes, go around the lake following signage for "Big Beehive". Once at the top of the slope at the other side of the lake. The trail can go left or right. Left is to Big beehive and right is towards devils thumb. You go around the base of Devils thumb mountain on the left side and follow it around in a horseshoe shape to the summit! Fall colors were spectacular and an overall great day. "We did a big loop to visit Lake Agnes, Little Beehive, St. Piran, Big Beehive, Devil's Thumb, the Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse, and a nice walk along Lake Louise. 25km, 1550m." — chelsea • Sep 21, 2021
"a 4 peak day (more like 2 peaks and 2 viewpoints). Fantastic day out with the last good weather day for a little while - snow is coming! Larches were absolutely peaked. Started early and made it up Devils Thumb for sunrise. A great vantage point for it. Lots of tourists go to the teahouse - way more than I thought even. Had to take the easy way up since the difficult route had snow. For St Piran - I'm surprised it's in the Kane book. It's a friggen hike with a max angle of 20deg on trail the whole time. Not sure what makes it a scramble, regardless, superb views especially during larch season, glad to have gone up there! Transition to ski mode begins.... Photos from today turned out GREAT! "As part of the Little Beehive - St Piran - Niblock - Whyte - Devil's Thumb - Beehive 2000m elevation 26km 9 hrs. Started to feel tired on this one with the long traverse around south side. Snow in the air on top." — alexjoseph • Jul 21, 2018
"First time here, but certainly not the last. Third peak of four for the day. Amazing views and only adds about 1 hour of fast hiking time to the Big beehive peak trip. Went up the normal route, but would like to do the scramble gully on another visit. A solo trip. Elevation gain from Lake Agnes 198m, YTD elevation gain 50968m." — MtnJohn • Sep 22, 2012
"Took a drainage on the right of the side-slope trail once the Plain of Six Glaciers was in view. Encountered difficult but very fun scrambling. Topped out below the summit. Followed a faint trail to the top. Trip report: http://www.clubtread.com/sforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=50861" — markostavric • Jun 30, 2012
"Did the Thumb and both Beehives on the way up to the Teahouse whilst staying in Banff for a few days. Myself and 3 Army friends were on R&R and heading to Vancouver on an epic road trip from Medicine Hat, via Edmonton, Calgary, Banff and Jasper." — HikingViking • Oct 1, 1990
