"Hiked two small peaks in the Hudson Valley, Taurus and West. First time using the new parking lot for the Washburn trail and surprised to find plenty of parking spots despite my mid-morning arrival. A lot of improvements to the trail, basically a wide gravel road up to the old quarry then plenty of nice rock steps on the climb above the quarry. All the over-use has been fenced off in order to encourage one path of use." — Nimblefoot • May 25, 2021
"Bull Hill with the Mrs. and Mikey. We attempted the Washburn Dike route, but it was a waterfall near the crux with no safe footing without protection, so we down-climbed and took the blazed trail to the summit instead. " — wacbravo • Jan 26, 2020
"A trail and bushwhack loop of Sugarloaf mountain, Breakneck Ridge and Bull Hill from Rt 9D. Much cooler and less humid then it’s been since last week &weekend. A lot of crispy leaves already falling do to the excessive heat. The trail snacks, blueberries ,are ripening nicely." — Nimblefoot • Jul 24, 2019
"Out doing some local peaks and searching for bench marks. The day started off nice and cool with blue sky and plenty of sunshine then it was as if the day went back to bed by pulling a solid cloud cover over the sky. Wandered around the summit area and found two bench marks with arrows indicating there is a third one that they are pointing to. Next time I'll search longer as I didn't find the third today." — Nimblefoot • Nov 7, 2017
"Beautiful Spring Day. Explored the Cornish Estate Ruins on the way up the mountain. Then could see the NYC skyline from the summit. Lots of people, but not as busy as Breakneck Ridge." — PJSelmer • Apr 2, 2017
"After red lining the Undercliff trail in the Hudson Highlands and visiting the summits of Sugarloaf Mtn and Breakneck Ridge I headed down to the old farm then up to Bull Hill. More stellar views up and down the river and down to the Coldspring area." — Nimblefoot • Jun 24, 2015
"A nice short hike after the snow flurries ended and the sun & blue sky popped out. A little slippery with the dusting of snow on a crusty/icey packed trail and someone was too lazy to take microspikes." — Nimblefoot • Feb 26, 2014
"A figure eight hike of numerous trails in the Hudson Highlands on a wonderful early spring day. We climbed Bull Hill(aka Mt Taurus) and hiked along the infamous Breakneck Ridge trail. Many hikers out today, the first snow-free saturday." — Nimblefoot • Mar 30, 2013
