"Two small peaks, Anthonys Nose in the AM and Breakneck Ridge in the late afternoon chasing the waning daylight. In between taking Dad to physical therapy and doing a hard ride on the Maybrook rail trail with the fixie bike. Overcast grey sky all day but still a nice day to be outside " — Nimblefoot • Oct 13, 2021
"Short hike from Rt 9D. Noticed a lot of new trail signs at jcts. a result of numerous lost or misdirected hikers not familiar with the area or maps and requiring SAR from local fire companies. Also a new trail, Ninham or Nimham, since my last visit that connects the Wilki with the Breakneck ridge trail fairly close to 9D. " — Nimblefoot • Aug 26, 2021
"First time attempting it.
great workout and awesome views.
It was a hot and sunny day - no hiding from the SUN on the mountain.
Ran into a fella with his great Dane, who were struggling because they didn't bring enough water.
I gave them half of what i had left and continued on. Hope they made it out OK." — HeyJoe • Jul 16, 2021
"Another day of getting out of the house hiking locally and enjoying the sunshine. A nice breeze at times to keep the day from hotting up too much. Plenty of others out enjoying in the fresh air as we do our dosey-do of social distancing. Most keep it friendly with a genuine Hi or How you doing while the few keep too themselves with stern looking faces....boo hoo. An out and back of Breakneck Ridge from the small Brook trail PA then down to the Tiorati Circle PA in Harriman for another O&B with less sun and more clouds." — Nimblefoot • Apr 2, 2020
"A trail and bushwhack loop of Sugarloaf mountain, Breakneck Ridge and Bull Hill from Rt 9D. Much cooler and less humid then it’s been since last week &weekend. A lot of crispy leaves already falling do to the excessive heat. The trail snacks, blueberries ,are ripening nicely." — Nimblefoot • Jul 24, 2019
"Taking advantage of another sunny warm day by visiting Breakneck Ridge, via a short whack, and Sugarloaf mountain. Quite a few other hikers out and about but I had both summits to myself. Finishing round #9 of the Hudson Highlands peak challenge." — Nimblefoot • May 16, 2019
"Visiting Breakneck Ridge on a cool and windy(brisk) day to stretch the legs and complete a round of the Hudson Highlands peak challenge. A short whack off the Breakneck Ridge trail to the open summit with views then a pleasant whack straight back down to the car on 9D near Sugarloaf mtn." — Nimblefoot • Nov 14, 2018
"Hiked a loop of the Breakneck and Wilkinson trails to visit the summits of Breakneck Ridge and Sugarloaf mountain for the month of January. The climb up from Rt 9D was the usual lung-buster and fortunately free of ice." — Nimblefoot • Jan 2, 2017
"After red lining the Undercliff trail and visiting Sugarloaf Mtn via the Breakneck bypass and the Wilki I continued on the Wilki to the Cascade Brook crossing then whacked up to the summit of Breakneck Ridge. " — Nimblefoot • Jun 24, 2015
"Climbed from 9D on a wonderfully warm/sunny day. Bushwhacked to its true summit since the trail is rerouted to the west of it. Trail used to go right over the highest bump, not sure when this changed." — Nimblefoot • Feb 15, 2013
