I summited Wolf Peak on a Mountaineers trip. We intended to go to Vesper, but got sidetracked to scramble up to Wolf first. Then we ran out of time & energy and gave up on Vesper itself. Getting up to Wolf made the trip a proper scramble. We got to Vesper Lake, where there was some snow. Going around to the north side of the lake, we scrambled up to the saddle between Wolf and Sperry on large, slabby rock. It worked out, though some of the rock was steep, and we had to find cracks to climb up. No ropes or gear, however. Wolf Peak itself is rewarding because the view north and west involves sheer cliffs going down hundreds of feet. We scrambled south and down a gully back to the lake.
