"Started on a frosty and cold morning from Belstone Village out over the westerly hills before joining the military tracks out to Hangingstone Hill. Return via the easterly side of the River Taw following the track back via the Hound Tors and the mighty Cosdon Hill. 18.8km. Sunny/Cold. Solo. " — MuchMoorWalking • Nov 25, 2023
"Ten Tors training walk 4: Stunning tor. Not steep from Hound Tor and stunning views (when it's not misty!). In firing range - range posts nearby. Will need to revisit and also do Hangingstone Hill and Steeperton Tor :)" — torbagger • Jan 6, 2018
"Ten Tors Mock Weekend. Came from Okment Hill with just the 4 of us as 1 of us dropped out after the 2nd Tor. We weren't there long as we were behind time and didn't stop long. Although I've been too the this Tor Plenty of Times one of my favourite Tors. Weather was good that day " — harry-mcsherry24 • Apr 23, 2016
"My Bombardier Leadership course was carried out in Plymouth and around Dartmoor. I also spent a few weeks on Military excercise in and around the Moors. Okehampton was our basecamp, along with many other bivy areas around DTA (Dartmoor Training Area) spent many hours, both day and night, tabbing around Dartmoor in the cold and wet......it was ALWAYS cold and wet !!.
A beautiful area though, one day, I'd love to go back under my own guidance, and appreciate the moors in my own time." — HikingViking • Apr 3, 1997
