Despite being located at the junction of Highway 1 and 93N, Waputik Peak isn't all that popular. This is likely due to the 5+km approach along Bath Creek, which includes pleasant riverside strolling, an occasional faint trail, moderate bushwhacking and cursing at shin-gouging spears. Eventually we left the creek for more bushwhacking and to grind up a cruddy rockslide, which then gave way to more pleasant terrain to reach the summit where the views were definitely the highlight of the day. The remaining snow patches made parts of the descent fast and more pleasant.
