"A quick trip up to this state H.P. after spending the day trying to outrun the midwest snowstorm. The winds had subsided some but windchill levels were still around 0, so I didn't linger long." — SteveM_StickMan • Jan 14, 2025

"I lost count of the number of accidents I either witnessed or drove through on my way to Ohio in this mornings snow storm. Finally reached Campbell Hill, OH in the afternoon. Blisteringly cold (for OH). I was concerned the trade school/community college that Campbell Hill resides on would be gated and locked but was pleased to see it open. Jogged up to the top of the hill and signed the trail register. Back to the car and off to Indiana.
The peak is the former home of the Bellefontaine Air Force Station, where the 664th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron maintained a Cold War early warning radar. Currently, the summit is occupied by the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center and is open to visitors Monday through Friday.
Located about 50 miles northwest of Columbus, Campbell Hill is classified as a glacial moraine and has been referred to as "the most manicured of the state highpoints." Campbell Hill ranks 43rd in height on the list of highest natural points in each U.S. state.

"After visiting the Summit County High Point, I drove up Broadview Rd. a couple of miles and parked by another county high point sign. This apparently is a thing in Ohio. I was reluctant to climb up on the house's front lawn, which was probably created from it's construction. Now on to find the IN-MI-OH Tri-state marker!" — SteveM_StickMan • Jul 10, 2023

"Had to be in Columbus for the weekend so we drove out to Campbell Hill and Hoosier Hill before the late flight home. Luckily had a beautiful clear day to enjoy the fall foliage along the way." — jodola • Nov 7, 2021

"This was my second visit to Campbell Hill, and the final side-trip on our epic road trip from Arizona to Maryland (via Texas). State high point #12 for my Mom! Last time I was here was in July 2019, and the campus was closed for the summer, so we had to walk in. Because we hit it on a Wednesday morning in early December this time, we actually got to drive onto the campus and right up to the high point! Snow all around, although apparently we weren't allowed to go sledding on the hill. :( Boo! (Not that we were going to, but it's the principle of the thing.) Classes changed while we were visiting - nostalgic to hear the electronic "bong bong bong" sound of the class-ending bells. A smooth visit. " — psychikingjes • Dec 9, 2020
