"Quick hike to the fire tower. Unfortunately, the tower is only open irregularly, mostly on weekends. Please note, the arboretum and forest are owned by a nonprofit and there is a sugested donation at the entrance. As we were only headed to the fire tower hill, we did not leave a donation. "Checked out this High Point spot after cooling off on the cave tour. Found the jar (with just a pen but no sign-in log) at a tree base, though I don't think that was the highest point. Wandered around on what I perceived to be the highest area in the open woods off the road, which was a little SE of the current coordinates." — SteveM_StickMan • Jul 27, 2023
"Continued up from East Pinnacle on this 90° very humid day with Kelly. The better than forecasted breeze on the summits made for a pleasant hike to this and the East Pinnacle prior. This Berea College recreational area is only a 1 1/2 hr. drive from Louisville and rewards hikers with some of the best views in Kentucky. I followed the nearby herd path to the actual high point but couldn't locate any markers. Rescued a family of newborn kittens from a hollowed out tree stump on the way back since Kelly has connections with the animal shelter." — SteveM_StickMan • Jul 26, 2023
"Hiked up and checked out all the lookouts on this 90° very humid day with Kelly. Found a family of newborn kittens in a hollowed out tree stump right near the trailhead, but the mom was VERY protective! The view from the East Pinnacle was spectacular. Since there was a better than forecasted breeze making it nice to be out, we continued on to the main summit." — SteveM_StickMan • Jul 26, 2023
"Our second peak of the day. After hiking Tri State Peak, we headed back down into Cumberland Gap, then headed up to the Pinnacle Overlook. Incredible view from the overlook. We were really glad the rain held off. We went up to the true summit before heading back down. " — newenglandwarrior • Jun 20, 2023
