"Took about 4 hours and 10 minutes to cover 10.2 miles. The route covers Pulpit Rock and The Pinnacle both. Views are stunning, saw quite a few turkey vultures circling by the pinnacle. Overall quite rocky but going counter clockwise, as other reviewers recommended, the incline was only in the beginning and quite short in length. There is a shelter with a compostable toilet near the beginning of the trail. Follow white trailblazes for the loop, trail and shelter indicated by a blue arrow and signpost about 1-2 miles in. Parking lot is quite large but I imagine it will fill quickly on weekend mornings. I was there with my 11 years old kid and wife it was unfortunately, foggy and cloudy conditions, but it was still a beautiful view." — Bhagyesh-Chokhawala • Apr 23, 2023
"Nice hike up and down from the Hamburg Reservoir side. Took furnace creek up, stoped at the spring, and took the AT back. Saw a rattlesnake at the pinnacle for the first time. " — j-mulligan • Oct 3, 2020
"My very first hike after years of not hiking. This hike almost killed my hamstrings. The ascent/incline was tough and we missed the pulpit rock but nonetheless felt a certain kind of high when we reached the summit. " — charmainemorcilla • Apr 7, 2019
"An amazing trip I took with my dad. We stayed at blue rocks campground and took the advanced trail to the top. It was a great experience other than how we took the wrong path back and walked 7 miles away from our starting point. We made it back perfectly fine with only a bruised ego.
Learned an important lesson about taking note of trail markers.
This is the trip that got me hooked on hiking and climbing." — Charles-Cole1 • Nov 15, 2015
