I climbed this one from Larrikin Creek Hut. Initially I was heading for the nearby peak called the Haystack but the cloud was coming and going and seemed clearer toward the Needle so I descended a bit and followed the same ridge in the opposite direction to the summit of The Needle which was clear of cloud. From the summit an area called the 100 Acres Plateau which is ringed by scarp face cliffs looked attractive so I descended to it for a look around.
