"Parked at Saddle Tor South Car Park and followed the track up to Saddle Tor to enjoy views of the south coast in the distance. Seeing Haytor Rocks were crowded already I trekked in a clockwise loop around the area taking in a number of tors and rocks as well as waist high ferns on the north side of the downs. Eventually ending up at the North Summit of Black Hill before skewing back across Haytor Down and, after a quick trip to the abandoned quarry, up Haytor itself! Walking down through the car park and past the huge queue for the ice cream van, Pinchaford Ball was next, then on to Bag Tor before returning to the road and skirting the south side of Saddle Tor before reaching the car once more. Solo, overcast, 13.5km." — MuchMoorWalking • Jun 26, 2021

"Walked a circular route which started at the car park, up to Haytor then down the right side and past Haytor Quarry, over to Smallacombe Rocks, had a brief break, I forgot my mug, so no coffee for me :(. Continued on my way to Holwell Tor, before descending into the valley and heading up to Emsworthy Rocks. The final summit was Saddle Tor and then a short but enjoyable stroll back to the car park. Very wet underfoot due to the horrendous weather over the past week. But today was glorious, albeit windy when up on the top of the tors.
Met quite a few very young foals along the way." — beccagulliver • May 22, 2021
