After driving to the end of Cow Heaven Canyon, we hiked up the trail towards the canyon, but split off to the right off the main trail, at a side trail that goes straight up the ridge towards the direction of the summit. A faint use trail is visible in some places. We then headed cross-country up the ridge, with lots of class 3 at the top, and towards what we thought was the summit, but turned out to be the first false summit. We then headed to the next false summit, and finally to the actual summit where the register is located.
