"Tom and I decided to climb Round Mtn from the Round Pond trailhead so we didn't have to play around making reservations for parking at St. Huberts. We left the trailhead at 7:07 am. Blue skies and 58 degrees. Round Pond was absolutely dead calm. Trails were dry and no bugs. Summited at 9:09. Had the summit to ourselves for the full hour we were there. Met many people on our way out mainly heading to Dix including two crazy trail runners. Returned to car at 12:15. Great summer morning hike with excellent views all around." — garyogden • Aug 20, 2022

"Adirondack camping trip to test out some new gear. Cold and windy conditions but we stayed toasty. Only bummer of the trip was finding our car broken into when we returned to the trailhead. Luckily nothing of great value was lost." — wacbravo • Dec 5, 2020

"Round Mountain & Noonmark Mountain, squeezing in the last Fall colors possible. Solo trip yet again and was surprised with a bluebird morning and splendid views after a foggy trip in. The Great Range was looking gorgeous. Went up the Weston Trail to Round Mountain and down the west slope to the Old Dix Trail, then up the south point of Noonmark and then descended via the Stimson Trail. Not a soul to be seen after the departure from Lake Road and I was able to get the last parking spot at the Roaring Brook Trailhead, the DEC was generous with many tickets for the multitude of those illegally parked. Colors are still breathtaking and will last a few more days at best. Happy Fall." — scottturner • Oct 4, 2020

"This was a lonely Memorial Day hike. The trail up was heavily wooded and not very scenic. I didn’t see anyone else on the trail. I felt a little nervous and sorry I’d headed out alone. This was not the peaceful solitude I was looking for. However, the views at the top of the Great Range did not disappoint. There was even was a glitter of light on Gothics on the way down. Took the straight Dix/Stimson trail done which was nicer. Tibeal tendinitis acting up a bit, but mind over matter. Need to get stronger for bigger hikes. This was about 5 miles round trip. "We parked at round pond trail head on RT 73. There was a cool beaver damn about .5 miles in, then we hit round pond. From there we headed up to a trail junction with Noonmark and took the tail to round mountain. Great day, easy hike, 360 degree view from the top" — toddanderson • Aug 8, 2015

"Hiked late in the afternoon after long day of waiting for weather to clear. Just as I reached the summit, dark thunderclouds blew blew in suddenly from the north or northwest and I sought cover below the tree line. Peak was very open and has good views in all directions. Would have liked to stay longer." — rschainbaum • Jun 16, 2015

"Our first hike of 2015, we hope we keep it going. Steep and short but great views from the bald summit. Noonmark blocks some views to the west but outside of that you can see it all especially Giant, Rocky and Dix." — hbotc • May 17, 2015

"I did a loop ausable Parking to round mountain down and over to base of noonmark over noonmark and back to ausable club parking.

"Hiked Noonmark and Round. Both are great rocky summits with views. Round is really interesting with lots of rocks to explore on the summit. See my blog post at http://offonadventure.blogspot.com/2011/10/noonmark-and-round-mountains-102911.html" — Telemarkmike • Oct 29, 2011

"I had always wanted to climb Round Mt. because it looked so appealing driving down Rt. 73, so after we summited Noonmark we went down the Adler Trail, then climbed Round. We saw many lady's slippers on the trail going up. We had wonderful views on top. And our knees hurt badly on the steep (seemingly endless) descent." — barbaratraver • Jun 24, 1996
