"For Bulger-list climbers, Remmel Mountain is usually considered approachable—but only if you take the standard Thirtymile route. My own experience with this peak has been far from straightforward. On my first attempt in 2023, I tried the North Ridge after climbing Cathedral and Amphitheatre and ended up turning back near the top. That unfinished business sat with me for a long time.
When I finally returned, I decided to approach Remmel from the opposite direction: Andrews Creek. Instead of following the traditional gullies or outdated trails, I made my way toward the East Ridge—a rugged spine with a mix of downed timber, open rock, and unmarked scrambling terrain. It felt remote and untouched, which made every step more rewarding.
Eventually, the ridge links into the upper summit trail, offering a much easier finish than the line I’d attempted two years earlier. Th..." — Waterboy • Aug 14, 2025
