"Went up on the dirt road with an off-road veichle, so no hiking here. Just wanted to see the views from the top.
I knew it wasnt worthy of a proper hike as the mountain is know for having been incredibly devastated by human activities.
On the slopes continuous fires have stripped the land of any noteworthy forest: what remains are mediterannean bush and sparse woods patches. There is also no chance anything will grow back as cattle, sheep and goats livestock is everywhere grazing every meter.
The summit is reachable driving on a forest road, sometimes dangerously narrow and exposed as it spirals up. On the top itself sits a huge telecommunications complex, with many buildings, antennas, repeaters, power trellis and stations etc. It is full of garbage left behind by construction and maintenance activities. Some units are clearly functioning, others look abandoned and rotting in the open air. There is a large building, probably hosting offices, mainframes and living quarters for employees, but it all looks like a huge waste as it seems like no one resides there.
