"Pick your poison: loose talus or prickly brush. Proud of myself for getting the summit—felt like I needed to summon all of my experiences in the mountain to knock this one off. One note: looks like a part of the road to the trailhead is now signed as private property. Owner was nice enough to let me pass through though!" — robertocampo • May 15, 2021

"Nasty peak. I tried to be creative and climbed the ridge line to the left of the standard ascent gully, since everyone reported such miserable talus. This route was terrible. We followed the ridge line all the way until hitting the standard route at 9300 ft. Lots of loose talus. Maybe someone should attempt this peak from the East " — seancasserly • Sep 20, 2020
"This was the longest 2.24 mile hike I have ever done. There is no real trail, the best thing for this hike is to get to the ridgeline as quick as you can and follow it. There are a couple sections along the way that you will want to hang around the East side of the cliff area. Keep your laces tight and get ready to climb. Glad I did it, but not one I will would make a return trip to." — CacheMACS • Oct 29, 2018

"Most trip reports bitch about the loose talus but I really didn't find it to be an issue if you kept to the ridge. In fact you could throw in some nice class III to mix things up along the way if you picked your route carefully. Unbelievably, the summit register goes back to 1963! The last party to climb it was over 2 weeks before! You can do the math on that one on how little it is climbed. I was probably the only person for at least a 25 mile radius, which is kind of creepy when you stop to think what could go wrong. " — Christopher • Aug 6, 2012

"I loved the way this peak jutted out on the approach hike. As hiking in noticed a nice looking long ridge slanting down to the right (east). Took that on the way down. Lots of boulder hopping on the way up. Some low angle slab and cliff on the way down. One 4th class 100 foot downclimb on the ridge I took down. This is one of my favorite peaks. "Started from Miner's Canyon and headed up the north sub ridge and then headed west until the main ridge and then followed it all the way to the top. Staying on the ridge keeps you away from all the loose talus. It is everywhere! " — garf • Nov 6, 2010
