We have been in this region of Spain for many weeks of rain and storms, normally in this month of the year these places should have less vegetation, but the rains are changing the landscapes. A storm falls on the Collado de los Ginovinos where I start the route and I decide to wait in my car for the rain to ease, the forecasts call for heavy rains, but they have spread to this area as well. In the end I decide to go up to the Columbares peak to see what the countryside looks like from the top.
It's just me and the mountain so I'm careful where I put my feet because some areas are slippery and it also rains again near the summit. I have lunch at the top with magnificent views and the songs of the choughs that nest on the north face.
