"AT Lash Day 6: Phyllis Spur to Amicolola Falls Visitor Center, with side trips to nearby peaks along the way. Took side trips out to Hawk Mountain, of which there’s nothing at the summit but a metal number, a few peaks just off the AT on the Benton MacKaye, and Long Creek Falls. The southern portion of the Georgia AT has quite scenic woods, and Amicolola Falls is a lovely park. " — wacbravo • Oct 14, 2024
"Point-to-point solo hike southbound (SB) on the Appalachian Trail Approach Trail (ATAT) between road crossings over Peak 2940 ft with Gina dropping me off and picking me up at the other end. The section of the trail north of the campsite (see Open Topo Map for campsite locations) on the north ridge of Peak 2940 ft had fresh boot prints and no spider webs across the wide trail, but not the rest of the trail, which was getting a little overgrown." — davidensley • Aug 2, 2023
"Went over this minor peak during my A.T. Approach Trail hike to Springer Mt. It is a short distance from the state park between the two High Shoals Rd. crossings before you get to Frosty Mt. I bypassed it on the way back, using High Shoals Rd." — SteveM_StickMan • Jun 24, 2020
