"Had some time left this afternoon to check out this Goffstown high point. Good view from the summit area to the northeast and Manchester area. Dismantled a couple of makeshift fire rings on the summit. On the way down took the snowmobile route bypassing the steeper Blue Tr. section since I was wearing sneakers this time." — SteveM_StickMan • May 8, 2022
"Checked out the Uncanoonuc's today for a +1 on my Views and Brews list. Lots of towers on South peak. North Peak had a view looking at Manchester. Went to Stark Brewery afterwards." — newenglandwarrior • Mar 11, 2019
"I'd done South Uncanoonuc a couple years ago, and today I figured I'd finish off the pair. The trails were really well blazed and I was actually surprised by the nice view of Manchester and the towers on South Uncanoonuc from the summit scenic viewpoint. The Red Dot trail was a steep ascent that would put a few 4000-footer trails to shame. The Blue Trail down was much easier on the knees. The Class 6 trail was a wide and easy walk both on the way up and down. All the trails were pretty dry even after yesterday's rain." — HikeLikeMike • Aug 6, 2017
"Today there was a reprieve from yesterday's near 90 degree temperatures. I arrived at North Uncanoonuc Mountain parking lot by 10:15 a.m. and there were only two other cars in the lot. It was 68 degrees and although the clouds looked pretty ominous, there was no rain in the forecast.
The trail starts on the opposed side of Mountain Road from the parking area and is labeled "Class 6 Road". It is very wide and is used in the winter as a skimobile trail. There is almost no elevation gain as Class 6 Rd. parallels Mountain road and wraps around the base of North Uncanoonuc. There are a couple of newer trails that have been felled, just follow the red plastic signs along the road. After about 0.4 miles, I passed the junction with the Red dot trail.
I read that this is a very steep trail so I decided to continue on another 0.1 mile to the Blue Trail, which has a more moderate incline. The trailhead was clearly marked with both wooden and plastic signs.
The Blue trail was not too bad, ascending at a pretty relentless pace up the side of the mountain. The footing was worth noting, there was a lot of small, baseball sized rock which made for uneven footing. This is similar ..." — rjnick • May 29, 2016
"Whipped past the trailhead and had to turn around. Steep ascent up White Dot Trail. Cool cave rock within first 5 minutes. Made it to top in 35 minutes. Nice open summit, but with fairly limited views. Rested, walked around and decided to descend via Red Dot Trail and Class 6 Road Trail." — jmax • Jun 8, 2013
"A short but steep hike. Lot's of ice in the beginning and about 3/4 of the way up the White Dot Trail. The cave right in the beginning was awesome looking all filled with ice and a bunch of icicles hanging looked like stalactites. Took a bunch of pictures of that, very neat! View at the top was nice, not an open summit but a nice view of Manchester, we even saw Boston's skyline from a few feet down the red/blue trail. A sign in pebbles wrote out Boston with an arrow. We saw Pack Monadnock as well a bit further down in a clearing off to the right. Amazing weather 50 degrees, hung out at the summit for a bit longer than we have been because the sun was so bright and warm, very nice day!" — sockmonkey145 • Feb 22, 2012
"Nice, short hike, a bit steep. Not the greatest views. One nice view over to Pack Monadnock over the summit.
