"From Chantry Flats, I took one of the first trails I ever hiked before, the Gabrielino Trail. One of my first and still one of my favorites. I followed it all the way to Newcomb Pass. I turned right at the pass and quickly connected with a forest road. I followed the forest road to the peak. The final part of the ascent accessed an old utility road which leads to the summit. A transformer stands on top. Next to the transformer is the typical red coffee can summit register. From the summit, I moved on to Mount Zion before wrapping up the day with a good semi-loop of the Santa Anita Canyon area." — MikeTeeples • Jun 30, 2018
