"After Streaked Mtn, I drove over to check out Mt Zircon. Road walk most of the way up. Then a trail up to the summit. Lots of nice views around the summit and also a fire tower that had been cut down many years ago. " — newenglandwarrior • Aug 27, 2021
"Got this hike confused with another one and accidentally dragged my family on a 6-mile roundtripper. Was shooting for something more their speed. Beginning part is a boring walk uphill on a logging road for like 2 miles. There were aspects that were nice, like tons of butterflies and wildflowers. The stop for cold water at the spring house, not long before the trail junction, was nice too. Once on the actual trail is a straight climb the rest of the way up. It was even giving me a workout, so it was killing all of them. They made it through though. The summit is open and beautiful, with views of Abram, Black, Grafton Notch, and the Whites. My youngest liked the collapsed fire tower structure. Hike down was much easier and faster. Good day." — mikewilliamsjr • Jul 5, 2021
"What a great day for a hike. Three dogs, four good friends and beautiful weather. What started out as a foggy morning turned into a perfect hiking day. This little mountain is a gem, off the beaten path, offering a good up hill hike that leaves you knowing you earned the view at the top. Every thing we read about this hike said to turn on to the gravel road, and park off to the side so your not blocking the gate. We felt the only way to do this, we would be parking on the lawn of the house on the right side of the road that had placed a string and grade stakes to keep people off the lawn. So out of respect of the neighboring land owner we parked in a gravel lot where Hall Hill Road and the South Rumford Road meet, and then walked to the trail head. The old fire tower is still laying on the ground at the top of this mountain, There are also geocaches so lace up you boots and give hike on up. Happy Trails" — bwright • Sep 19, 2015
